I love vintage fashion photography. In fact, I would probably be a happy photographer if I shot only vintage fashion day in and day out. Ok, maybe at some point I’d get tired of it, but that day is a long way off. I love the challenge of putting together the whole picture of vintage clothing, model, pose, lighting, background, and props into a single shot that evokes the spirit of classic fashion and photography of days long gone by. It’s exciting to see the model when she first emerges wearing the vintage fashion, with her hair and makeup done up in period-appropriate styling. It’s up to me to then create some artistic photographs.

Torie was the model for this session. She contacted me because she had seen some of my previous vintage fashion photography (see my photos of Livia in 40s fashion, Lori in 40s and 50s fashion, the vintage fashion show, and vintage hat show) and wanted some pictures taken of her in 1920s styling. Of course I jumped at the chance! (And if you get the itch to do something similar, let me know. I’ll jump at that chance too.)
