Sabrina and I have been trying to find a time to take family portraits for a while now, so it’s good we were finally able to meet up and get a few outdoor family portraits taken. We even had a nice sunset to work with.

I spent the late afternoon and early evening taking pictures at the Old Stone Bridge near Manassas, Virginia, in Manassas National Battlefield Park. It’s a great location for photography, though it’s a bit out of the way for me. It took me an hour and a half to get there through rush hour traffic. The drive would normally take about 40 minutes, except that rush hour traffic is normal in the Washington DC area, so I guess I should have expected it to take about that long.

It turned out that I arrived at just about the perfect time for taking pictures, with the sun low on the horizon and getting ready to set. Of course, that also meant I had to hurry and take the pictures.
